Jonathan first started BurgBnB and his short-term rental journey in 2018 when he first moved to Harrisburg from Seattle where he worked at Amazon. He purchased a small, historic (1900) Row House duplex in Downtown Harrisburg that sat on the market unsold for over three years. He converted the first-floor commercial space, formerly a hair salon to a tiny home. He lived downstairs in the tiny home and rented the top floor apartment loft to guests on AirBnB. Due to the success of his initial venture he looked to expand his footprint. In the Summer of 2019, he found the perfect property a historic (1850) Riverfront 6-unit apartment complex in Midtown Harrisburg. One week before closing on the property tragedy struck. For the first time in his life Jonathan was laid off from work. He made the decision to not tell the bank about the layoff and moved forward with the purchase. He vowed from that point forward he would never work for another company again.
Due to the circumstances he accelerated his vision to create a short-term rental community in Harrisburg. Jonathan moved into the Riverfront building and designed, decorated and personally lived in all of the apartment homes at varying times. Jonathan transformed his properties in Harrisburg to create BurgBnB a premier short-term rental company in Harrisburg.
